About
This walk takes place in the hilly surroundings of Pradettes. This off-the-beaten-track village is well worth a visit for the quality of its heritage and flower beds.
The Chapelle de Pradettes was built in 1769, under the reign of Louis XV. It is attached to the diocese of Pamiers and belonged at the time to the Sénéchaussée de Limoux. It appears to have replaced an earlier church, of which no trace remains. By 1977, the chapel was falling into ruin. The sacristy had disappeared, and it was thanks to the determination of a few villagers and the support of a youth workcamp that the first restorations to the church took place in the summer of 1980.
